I desire for every child to be able to learn, read and write, to etch their dreams and fortresses that touch the skies. I desire for them to feel, as they learn, the crisp of the paper, the smell of old warmth tucked in them and the zing of the pen frolicking on the whites of the sheets. I desire not for our children to be zapped in the world of cellphones and Ipads, their cables though working to source information upon a single click, but ironically shackling us in their snares and wires and confining our path to not look beyond, for knowledge and wisdom.
As we rejoice in the glorious festival of Dusherra, we are immensely grateful to @aromamagicindia @samantha_kochhar for being ever kind and gifting our kids with crimson backpacks and @dnyaneshzoting and his amazing friends for bestowing them with books and stationaries for six of our villages. Let good triumph over evil, let knowledge always triumph, let our children always triumph!

When you look at a tree and perceive its stillness, you become still yourself. You connect with it at a very deep level. You feel a oneness with whatever you perceive in and through stillness.

The trees are named after so many people .. Many loved ones.. Mentors.. Covid warriors..Pet children..
Behind each tree, there are so many stories .. But each tree has given life to that soil .. employment to some one in a quaint little village ..
Now we are planting trees in the name of villagers too. We started planting in the name of medical health Center of pokhri village. And best part is the one you see in the picture has planted their own tree. They were very happy to see their nameplate ❤️
Thank you for the support. Apart from planting your own tree whatever extra money your are contributing we are able to use that and plant more
In the name of our village locals ..
Once they grow, the trees will give is multiple times through their beauty, the Shade for people sitting underneath and to village children a place to play
Love and kindness will prevail

I’ve always been envious of the ones who cook all that delicious food.
AT HOME is an e-cook book.
A book that celebrates home.
A book put together by recipes donated by chefs, home cooks, food bloggers and entrepreneurs from around the country.
Hundred percent of the money raised from the purchase of this book will go towards @nabhanganfoundation, an organisation working in villages across Maharashtra for many years now run by my dearest @rajshri_deshpande
The money will be used for completing the school being built in Pandhari village, for the farmers and local artists.
The book has been designed and curated by @thekitchenklutz. She has cooked every recipe and photographed it for the book. Thank you for this lovely idea and all the effort, Richa.
And to all you kind souls who not only make the best food but also donated a recipe for our cause, THANK YOU.
We cannot wait to share it with you. <3

We live in such bleak falling times, chaotic in our own collusions and annihilations. Then, to hold the wreckage of our falling hearts, we need immaculate souls. And as if, the clemency of the heavens upon man, we have our four legged children. We look into their solemn eyes, we are whole again.
We have been witness to the love, many of our friends have for their fur children, far beyond space, time and comprehension. So, here is a humble ode to our pets, our children, who hold us and make our lives worthy to live through our wars. @atikaChohan @vidushak @motheroftheoddsquad #plantingtrees🌳🍃 Words by @the.dry.eyed.carbide @nabhanganfoundation @sagar.thube.90 #Marathwada #farmers ... Trees which gave happiness to many has given economical support to some of our farmers. During this tough time of Covid many are jobless and it’s very difficult to find opportunities to work also.
Dattu Jadhav one of our hardworking warrior of Nabhangan , who made Mesh for our trees is a BCom degree holder but due to no job opportunities and no farmland he was working with his brother as a daily wage labourer...
Now after making Mesh for our 500 trees whatever he earned through that he repaired his bike and selling khari and biscuits village to village.
Not only that he makes people smile ❤️
He found his earning resources and we are very very proud of him.
Till now we planted 500 trees .. Some of them has been dedicated to our contributors, some to their children and their loved ones. Some we dedicated to our mentors , Covid warriors.
There is story everywhere.. Even in our tree journey too.
These stories inspire us and keep us going .. Hope we empower many villagers to find balance in their life

A dauntless journalist breathes and gifts the society, with the spirit of free speech and expression, paving the way for the ideal of fiercely standing by and succouring the meek, one of the most inalienable, unimpeachable and inextricable facets of democracy, a hopeful rebellion for a socialist world. And therefore, such are analogies to trees, that do just that, offering to the world something beyond themselves. They bless us with air, fruits and refuge, gifting a freely liveable and unfettered world for our generations to come. We have planted a tree in the name of Barkha Dutt as an ode to her unbiased, doughty and selfless contribution in the field of journalism. Thank you Barkha 🙏❤️

Most of the 25 construction labour’s working on the Pandhari school site are from locals from Pandhari and the nearby villages. I know most of them personally and they are to me my family.
All of them said just one thing: "Thank you for starting the work .. finally we are back to work and earning our daily wages"...
It’s just not building a school, we are actually working on Holistic development of the villages in the Marathwada region.
In Social work, the approach to development in my opinion is the most important aspect.
If you want our villages to flourish, you have to work with Love& kindness, at the same time maintain consistency, planning& research. Finally community participation is to key to sustainable development.

While Speaking to Thakur teacher from Tanda area school , Mathjalgoan village. he said: We have become Zero tai ...and we have to start from here. All the efforts put into teaching the children is wiled outin these 6 months. We couldn’t do anything. He tearfully said to me. I too could not stop my tears as I listened to him.
The rural areas have always been neglected. Specially Banjara ( Tanda ) Community areas. Now during this Pandemic they don’t exist for anyone....
We did provided rations to these areas but somehow missed giving things specifically for my children.
It’s my mistake, I got so busy raising funds and managing the school construction work in pandhari village that so I missed out on this Banjara school community area. 😞
We have 40 kids here whose education has suffered.. And it's my mistake. I will try to set right the situation asap.
Thank you Thakur sir for taking care of the village kids. I know you got busy because your whole family has tested Covid positive. But you were always there with me and I know when you will be back to serve the village very soon.
With our efforts we will make sure the community flourish again.
Happy teachers day to all these brave teachers

The iconic Blossom Kochhar planted 50 trees in our Pokhri village. ❤️❤️
Dear Samantha Kochhar and Blossom Kochhar Ma'am, thank you so much for your support for the tree plantation drive in the villages. To enrich the local environment, a theme that's the very basis of Aroma Magic personal care products by Blossom Kochhar.
Through this initiative, we not only do we make the environs green but more importantly: we bring awareness among the villagers and instill in them a sense of responsibility for their environment. A stellar combination.
Thanks once again Ma'am. It's an absolute honour and a lovely feeling.❤️

A few days ago, a theft happened in our Pandhari village school construction site.A truck was stealthily loaded with steel bars and was trying to escape.
The school is close to the highway so access is easier. Fortunately the road side tea stall owner saw and immediately called the villagers. This was the time when most farmers take a break from work and have their lunch. A group of farmers and Deepak our Sarpanch swiftly reached the highway, stopped the vehicle and removed all the material.
They immediately went to the police station and also informed me about the incident. I was naturally worried and tried to call the Sarpanch Deepak's no. He did not pick up the call but instead called me after 2 hours.
He said : Tai, you don’t worry we have managed everything. This is my school...my village school...my Nabhangan Foundation school. It's as much your school and I am not going to let anyone damage our hard work.
All the boys who were there, said the same to me. Next they went back to the school and started cleaning the place as the next morning, the kids will come for maths tutoring. We need to have a clean place for them to use.
Five years ago, I knew no one from the village. This is when I started working here. Everyone said this is the most difficult village to work with because they don’t have unity.
Now the villagers have tears of joy in their eyes when they see the river flowing. Everyone I Pandhari uses toilets built by Nabhangan foundation. All issues Anything are jointly addressed.
They love their school and wants better and better facilities for their children.
Owning your responsibility at all times and being attached to the cause is the most important thing when you are working in the villages.
The village should also accept the projects you are working on. That happens only if you are deeply involved in your work with honesty and love.
I thank each and every person from pandhari village who is standing tall with me in every crisis. There were people who wanted to beautify the village in one month but they chose me. Who took 5 years to work on water .. sanitation and school but they decided to hold my hand and walk with me. It’s them who empowered me and made me a better person. Thank you my farmers ... It’s been a year now, I am working with the farmers in Ambi village ( near Panshet, Pune ). Recently, we repaired the roof of the village school as the rains are heavy here and the repair was critical.
Everytime I go to Ambi, I spend time with the families living here. Trying to understand their lives and the ground level issues they deal with. I almost know each and every family and their house in the village and all their little stories. The locals of Ambi lovingly call me their sister or daughter... They share their problems with me and I try to solve them. It is critically important to know a village you want to work in... Understand the people, their mentality and their real problems. Interestingly, and I am so glad that this village has many strong women. Hopefully the community centre which we all are working on starts soon.. Amen.
Meet the powerful women from Ambi village ❤️
