Today, our Nabhangan Foundation team provided N95 mask and sanitizer delivered at Nasik - aurangabad check post Naka police stations, different locations related to essential services , highway petrol pumps. All thanks to Surya Balakrishnan who coordinated everything.

Right now most important is everyone wearing mask, sanitize hands with all safety measures. Today morning I visited a slum in Mumbai next to my house where one positive patient died. BMC team was there to do testing but I saw so many people not wearing mask and surrounding BMC team. Kids were playing without mask near Versova garbage area. I request all frontline workers, volunteer teams, NGOs , individuals who is distributing ration in Bombay slums spend a little time and sensitize everyone the importance of proper mask ( Bombay pune you have to wear proper mask not the duppatta/cloth mask ) with hygiene, sanitizer. Just that 1 minute of conversation will save everyne's life. Can we organise more awareness & sensitization camps along with Food distribution programs in our city?

Apart from farming and cooking for whole family my women manage flour mill , ration shops, tailoring , craft work and many small scale businesses in their respective villages.
While distributing sanitizers Our Nabhangan Foundation team explained everyone how to keep safety while working.
While talking to one of my ( woman ) farmer friend she said , We have to take charge of work. Be it man or woman. I know we have to earn money to survive but We will have to be extra careful too. Tai I promise I will be careful.
Let their tribe increase in villages. I want to see more small scale businesses in villages .. Specially for women in near future❤️

We need to have more empowered , self sustainable villages 🤞

The happy and hardworking family of our Nabhangan Foundation warrior #Santoshkharat distributed ration to all the needy people from paradgaon village of rural interior village of Marathwada
It’s been 2 days they didn’t had electricity but still his whole family is working day n night in 46 degree temperature. When I asked Santosh you can do it in few days once you get back your electricity. He said we should do it asap tai lot of people don’t have ration in the village we should give them immediately. There are already malnourished kids in the villages. There are few villagers are back to villages from the metro city we need to take care of them. While keeping the phone down he asked ‘Tai once this is done can we do toilet pit in the village?
I am glad they are concerned about their village. I am proud to know that they want to do something solution based on their village.

I want more leader from the villages. I want more youth to come forward and take responsibility of their own villages. I want each and every village self sustainable. I want them to have all basic facilities so no one leaves their village.

Support us to support more villages 🙏

ASHA worker from Ambad ..
She is our accredited social health activist from the village. She is the one who is taking care of all the medical related issues.
Post Covid we will have to train many Asha workers like her to handle Covid related issues like making villagers, women , elders and kids more aware about social distancing, good health, hygiene etc. They also need to be guided about Covid 19 symptoms and keeping a track of suspected patients. Yesterday while distributing sanitizers, our Nabhangan Foundation team member #Sagar mentioned that the Asha worker will have to manage a lot of work from now onwards. That’s very very true. She is the bridge between doctors, hospitals and villages because till now many interior villages don’t even have health posts. Hope along with NGOs our govt takes more steps towards health related issues in villages and educate our workers about Covid 19. #rethinkvillages #healthcare #Ashaworkers

The 24 x7 vigilance; ensuring our mega population maintains the social distancing norms laid by the government; defining and maintaining vigil in the containment zones; inspecting traffic on the highways... The list is long.

Strict norms have been defined out for the officials working on the field and susceptible to the infection. Masks; PPE Kits; frequent use of hand sanitizers; etc.

But the fact is that our police force on the field is facing a problem of shortage of the protective gear. Many police officers have already lost their lives to covid-19. This is a really sad situation.

Fortunately, many individuals and organizations including the Nabhangan Foundation have contributed substantially to providing our police personal hand sanitizers and masks to checkpost, rural villages police stations and Aurangabad police stations.
But we need to do more. We need to keep our each and every doctor, health worker , police staff , frontline warriors safe and healthy.

I stand with all my Nabhangan’s covid-19 team and their incredible army who are doing relief work in their own and neighbouring villages traveling on motor bikes in the hot summer temperatures of Marathwada which can shoot up to 47 deg C.

It was a time for me not only to get an update about the progress of the on-going covid 19 relief work, but also understand how they are coping with the challenges on field. It was also an occasion to inform these ‘on the field’ relief workers about various aspects related to the pandemic: Importance of social distancing; Importance of hygiene and sanitization; how the virus behaves with different age groups; Risk of co-morbidity and mortality rates; what is an asymptomatic carrier of the virus etc.

We all know how sections of the society are moving away from the big cities back to their homes in smaller towns and villages. In the post covid days, it will be our onus as rural developmental groups to help enhance the local infrastructure to help accommodate the returning population. Ensure adequate Educational facilities so that our children get the same education facilities that they accessed in the large cities.

To heartily appreciate and thank our doners and supporters whose generous contributions and overall Love that makes all these relief efforts possible.

In all: A heart to heart conversation with my team that left me feeling a sense of satisfaction that we are on the right track…

Lockdown 4.0 saw the opening of essential services in the country. Specially in some villages. These include services like the local grocery stores, Hair cutting salons, Laundries, Local flour mills etc. The operators of these businesses and their helpers need to be made aware of the covid-19 menace. There is also a need to educate them about precautions to be observed to avoid the infection and it's further transmission. #nabhanganfoundation team went on a war footing to sensitised this community. And another step further to donate the masks and the sanitizers etc. especially to the helpers working In these businesses.

Special thanks to Surya Balakrishnan who managed all the coordinations and made sure sanitizers and mask reached to the Nabhangan Foundation villages team.

My warrior #sagarthube and his hardworking team is making sure every other person is safe in the villages.

Today, it’s more urgent that ever before that our villages become self-sufficient. Our children have access to uniform education and prospects for future growth. Local talent and businesses are nurtured and become the backbone of local growth. That we Develop, Manufacture and Consume in our own country and do not look towards foreign nations for our necessities and products.
The Nabhangan Foundation is spearheading the movement towards self-sustenance in our countries ‘heartland’ for years, we have worked in the drought ridden villages of Marathwada infamous for farmer suicides. Today our endeavour has become more holistic and all encompassing. And Our Children’s growth is the cornerstone of the new order.
Let me leave you with a young boy’s story from our pandhari village Marathwada:
Ajju is a young boy 12 years of age in the village of Pandhari. Born to local Brick Klin workers, his parents are daily wage labours in an un-organized sector. His parents are stuck in poverty and alcoholism is the daily escape from the stark reality. And yet they dream for a better life for their only child.
Ajju is studying in the local school. Two years back he stopped going to school because he had no uniform. We spoke to him and put him back to the school. Last year we had graffiti workshop in Pandhari school, Ajju who stays next to the school was too part of it, He showed a keen interest in painting and fine arts and has the trappings to become an artist. I mean it he is very very talented.

We #nabhanganFoundation are dedicated to protecting and enriching the potential of children like Ajju.

Nabhangan Foundation is blessed with a team of Covid 19 warriors who know the rural territory.
Today #sagarthube distributed rations to the brick klin workers , sugar cutting labourers and daily wage workers in the villages of Hingne and Jiri.

Along with distributing rations from door to door to avoid long queues, Sagar talks to these people about Covid 19, and how we are combating the menace.

While on field I too take the opportunity to get on video calls with the villagers. Heart rending conversations with the villagers inviting me to their villages and asking me to join them for meals cooked by them. Their invitation is very warm and pure.

Today Nabhangan Foundation distributed ration in Budh Nagar , Kurla , Mumbai.

While watching one of the video of today’s distribution I saw a young girl washing utensils next to a gutter which flows right outside her house. It’s nothing new in Bombay slums but today it will be difficult for me to sleep seeing that face.

Very Proud of my dear Priyanka Singh , Kamlesh and their entire team who managed the whole distribution so well. She has been working so hard and distributing ration to many needy people since day one. She is out there with honest efforts and kindness in heart. ❤️

Big hug to Addy Mitzy who were there with the whole team to boost their moral. After the distribution she asked me what’s next work rajshri. I am all ready to work more. How beautiful it is to have friends who hold your hand and support you in your journey. ❤️

Thank you so much our donors who is contributing to our efforts. Without your support nothing is possible. We will need more support and love. Please donate whatever you can 🙏

Our @nabhanganfoundation warrior #sagarthube distributed ration in Pokhari village, near Vaijapur village, Marathwada.
We generally never have banners or branding on anything. Most villages don't even know where the ration has come from. I make sure my team who is distributing is the face of it and gets blessed by the farmers.
On asking Sagar as to why he wrote the NGO name, he said he was honoured while distributing those kits and wanted to reassure the farmers that Nabhangan team will always be there, come what may for anything they need in the future. We are very proud of all our volunteers who is working in villages keeping them safe and spreading awareness.

Please we need your contribution to support more villages

If you think that she is going through so many problems today, then you're wrong.
If you think after Covid 19, her life would be any different or better, then you're wrong.
We have not worked for our villages from past 50 years. How do we think that everything will change suddenly now in few days. We've never paid attention, never really made an effort to sustain them, never really known our villages. May be we will now. After all of this is over, perhaps. Let's not forget what our eyes have seen just now. Let's plan, organize and build together.

Today morning we distributed ration to 2 more nomadic communities from interior part of Marathwada. Our Nabhangan Foundation team member, Swapnil called me and told me that those farmers wanted to speak to me on a video call. And I spoke to most of the people who were present there. I could not say much but somewhere all I wanted to tell them was that I am one of you.
My dear farmers and daily wage earners from reviving a river to building schools, we've done it all together. We celebrate Diwali, Eid & all the festivals together. If any mishaps happen, you call me immediately. You all prayed for my mother with all your heart when she was battling brain tumour. This bond is so warm and overwhelming. And we will deal with this together, for that's what family does. May be today you need ration and I need funds to support many like you. But there will be a tomorrow, when all of us will be self sustainable and empowered to deal with whatever comes our way. Hang in there my farmer friend, for we shall sail through this together.

Nabhangan Foundation need support to help more villages from interior part of Marathwada. Please contribute 🙏

It was around 46 degree temperature in aurangabad. Me and our architect&planner Madhura Joshi had gone to finalise bricks for our pandhari village school. I couldn’t take off my eyes from this lady. She was quietly working.. I could hear a kid crying close by probably her child. But all her focus was on her work. I went closed to her smiled and asked her all ok ? She smiled back and said yes and asked about my whereabouts. That’s it .... That gave me a smile, positivity and I continued my work and she too. Dr. Gokhale who is a environmentalist was with us in our Pandhari village when we were working on water irrigation. While discussing about farmers and daily wage earners, he said the most important thing is respect, dignity and kindness. If you don’t give your workers that then there is no point of doing anything else. That conversation hit all the right chords and will always stay in my heart. Maharashtra day or on every other day, let kindness and respect takes the first place as we step towards betterment for everyone.
