As many of you may remember, I was building an Eco School in #Pandharivillage , Marathwada before the world got hit by a pandemic and the dynamics of everyday life changed us all in ways unimaginable. In this crisis, our team Nabhangan Foundation got on the ground to support 30 villages migrant workers, frontline health workers, rural people, women with necessary items.

Now that we’re in the last phase of completing landscaping, door-windows, furniture work etc, we decided to convert the issue of reverse migration into an employment opportunity for our local farmers so they get to build their own school and have the means to feed their families, for which we need your help.

We request you all to come forward and contribute your share of love to build a school for our kids. Every contribution is huge for the ones in need and we’ll not let this virus stop us. We’re grateful for your overwhelming support throughout our journey, for that’s what keeps us going.

Please donate whatever you can 🙏

I don't know how I feel right now. One side I am celebrating the victory of convincing 10 women from Ambi village to do small scale business but on the other, Rajesh ji, whom I'd kept in a shelter home last week, ran away from there. As the shelter home people told me he became violent and abusive.
When I saw him back near Yaari Road, I asked him why he left the shelter? He said he gets free langar food in Versova and by begging he buys his own liquor and tobacco. He added, when he doesn't need to work and is fine sleeping on road then why should he stay in place with restricted timings and no liquor.
He chose this life and I had nothing left to say to him.

When I met rajesh ji last week he was getting beaten up his cloths were all dirty. But he ok living life by begging .. 13 years he did this ...

I don’t know whose mistake is this but I always feel no one should suffer and hopefully begging should be banned.

But if you look at the overall system we don’t have proper and well equipped shelter homes. And the ones which are there don't have fully trained staff to take care of people living through diverse experiences.. We don’t know how to handle disturbed minds, #Vandemataram shelter I'm not saying it's completely your fault that he ran away, it’s a system failure most of all, for not having enough shelter homes and dedicated and trained team for homeless people. If there are ideas, there's need for better execution.

I was sad thinking about how I had failed too. But I haven't yet lost my hope. Tomorrow if I see another person who needs help, I'll go ahead and do it again without a doubt. Because sometimes that's all we can do. We can try. Let's do more for each other.

Spent my Eid with #MunnaHussain Ji in Karjat. ❤️

#MunnaHussain Ji is now happily staying in VishramGhar shelter home in Karjat.

I am trying to find people who knew him from film fraternity. One of them is Partho Ghosh. Apparently #MunnaHussain Ji said he worked with this Director as a production controller. FTII team is not sure if he is from the institute.

Fortunately I found many photos and paper cuttings about his film work which is attached here. There are many known faces.

It’s quite clear that he is from the industry. he also has card of IMPPA but he said no one helped him there. I don’t know which association helps who but there must be many film people who may not be part of any association or don’t know anyone there and suffering due to no work or no money or no support and on road begging or are physically weak or mentally disturbed. Isn’t it our film industry’s responsibility to look after them?

How many spot , production people , make up , hair , background actors , dancers and many one time actors we remember.... How many must have lost financial, family , work battles. How many film makers exist on any paper ?

The industry is made up of people. It is they who make the industry. Let’s value life .. Because every life matters!

Tai , Majhyaaa raincoat madhe Spider-Man aahe ❤️❤️
What a beautiful day in our ambi village. We distributed raincoats , Notebooks, stationeries and kids were very to happy to see their new classrooms which we repaired recently. Thank you Dear @swanandkirkire @ankurtewari @raghudixit11 @moitrashantanu for such an amazing fundraising concert and thank you to each every contributor who were part of it. Our village kids absolutely loved all the raincoats. Though it was not raining today still they wore them and went back to their houses. They were Smiling .. Dancing .. Holding their stationeries close to them and I as usual looking at them from a distance and giving virtual hugs to each and everyone. Thank you Kanchi Parikh for stationeries. Thank you @suryab #pallavi @kedhhar for procuring raincoats and some Mazza bottles for our kids. #Rethinkvillages @nabhanganfoundation

Update - Finally found a shelter for Rajesh Ji 🙏❤️

Rajesh Ji 60 year old partially blind , who did laundry and bhangar work is now homeless since 13 years . He says he has kids who don't want to take care of him. He is begging on yaari road he doesn’t even remember since when.

Many people offer him little money to buy food but I think: why should he suffer like this ? Why does our system not become strong so as to put up these people in a shelter for the homeless.

Why do they have to sleep in the open near bus stops, road sides or some empty space. Many people & security guards have beaten Rajesh ji and threw him out from their buildings.

When will we have the human values and take solution based decisions.

Today, his food has been take care of but that’s also a temporary solution. The Police told me you should see when the lunger happens in the Gurudwara, you will meet many homeless like him...

But why this issue of homelessness and when will it will get resolved ?

Thank you Shibani Ganguly Ghosh for cloths and Dhiraj Devendra Kotkar for bedsheet ..

Versova Police took him to cooper hospital for medical test. Brijesh Arya found a shelter for him near Matunga. Hope he get some space where he his food and shelter will be take care of and he doesn’t have to beg.

The online musical event organized by Nabhangan Foundation yesterday evening was pure magic. I am feeling so happy and grateful.

We were so fortunate to have on a single platform, the finest of musicians: Swanand Kirkire , Shantanu Moitra , Raghu Dixit and Ankur Tewari. The songs & music was excellent, the stories & conversations absolutely heart warming.

Be it, an insight into the humdrum of daily life through the songs of a super sensitive @ankurtewari or the beautifully lilting poetry of love by Swanand expanded by Shantanu's finest music, or the power packed songs of Raghu Dixit. Truly an ensemble of the greatest stars.

In this scenario of a global pandemic, when everyone is stuck in some or other place, only art can give us that happiness and bring us together.

People from everywhere: Bombay .. or Bangalore .. Chennai ., Dubai .. LA .. Kanpur .. Belgaon .. aurangabad .. Pune .. from Villages ... joined in. Some alone, some with family, and some with their pets!! ❤️❤️

I was just happy seeing them all enjoying and happy. Truly, Nabhangan is all for spreading happiness everywhere and for everyone.

I am so happy and thankful to everyone: A big 'Thank you' Dear Swanand for anchoring the entire event.

Kudos to Surya Balakrishnan Kedhhar Barrve and the entire Nabhangan team and the 'Insider' team for all the ground work, planning and execution.

And above all, my love to the Kids in the villages of Marathwada who inspired us all to come together and be happy together!!! @nabhanganfoundation #rethinkvillages

Monsoon is the most precious time for our Marathwada villages. With the Covid relief work happening on the fore front, we cannot let the rest of the environmental concerns take a backseat.

Keeping the future in mind, Team Nabhangan will be simultaneously planting trees in 30 villages. We've started with Pokhari village, where 50 trees have been planted till now and been dedicated to our generous contributors.

The planted trees will be looked after by an assigned families in the village itself. Your support has been precious so please feel free to reach out to us if you want to share a part of your love with our villages and we'll plant your tree there 🌳

Vishramghar old age home , Karjat run by Vijay Karande Ji.

The world is violent and mercurial--it will have its way with you. We are saved only by love--love for each other and the love that we pour into the art we feel compelled to share: being a parent; being a writer; being a painter; being a friend. We live in a perpetually burning building, and what we must save from it, all the time, is love.

Thank you so much Tejas 🙏What's life without a little music?
It's deeper than just entertainment, a collective connection that keeps us sailing though the highs and lows alike. And that's what we at Nabhangan constantly aim to create, a collective of self-sustained villages by digging the root areas that need work than just tackling problems at the surface it.
Be it our drought hit villages, sanitation and hygience, health or education, women and transgender empowerment or providing shelter homes. We are a not for profit organisation and need your support to continue thriving for the betterment of our villages.

We're truly overwhelmed and honoured to have such talented musicians and my dearest friends Swanand Kirkire, Raghu Dixit, Shantanu Moitra and Ankur Tewari performing for us to raise money, that'll be used to provide our village kids with better educational resources, stationery, kits, books and lot of interesting things. Please join us in this musical endeavour and help these kids see light at the end of the tunnel with your contribution and love.

My strong women from villages.
My village warrior Sagar told me tai after distribution of shields , N 95 mask , thermometer to Asha tai workers from rural villages they immediately started their work. I was amazed to see their strength and the way they were going to each and every house and checking on people and making people aware about the virus.
Our villages are very very strong what we need to do is to empower them a bit to make them self sustainable. We have to delegate, decentralise our work to work on more n more villages ❤️

Ohhh These images makes me happy ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We ran out of funds and We need more support to support more people from rural villages🙏
