Every year, ~1.5 million people migrate within /into Maharashtra each year. The consequences are severe:
Distress migration breaks family structures, causes urban stress, and reflects rural breakdown. The challenge demands a systemic response that tackles root causes of Distress Migration.
We believe every community challenge is interconnected. That’s why our programs go beyond short-term fixes. We work with the village communities torebuild the systems that sustain life. From restoring rivers and farms to strengthening schools and health access, our work addresses the full ecosystem of rural well-being.

True village transformation is possible only when every part of the ecosystem works together. At the heart of Nabhangan’s approach is collaboration — bringing together communities, governments, technical experts, and corporate partners to create sustainable and systemic impact. Each stakeholder plays a vital role: villagers lead with local knowledge and ownership; government bodies provide policy support and infrastructure; CSR partners support with funding; knowledge institutions bring research and expertise; and the Nabhangan team facilitates coordination, transparency, and long-term sustainability. Together, we create thriving villages where water, education, and health systems strengthen one another ensuring families can stay, grow, and prosper where they belong.

Our approach is human centered and community driven. We make sure that the community is at the center of decision making since the first step. The human centred approach was the foundation of the methods we used to center the villagers and follow a process to make a sustainable impact
