Pandhari pimpalgaon, and Mathjalgaon Tanda have long faced severe water scarcity. While
many states were dealing with floods, Pandhari was declared a drought-hit village. These
villages also struggled with low agricultural output and a growing disconnection from farming.
Nabhangan Foundation has successfully completed rainwater harvesting projects spanning
5 km in Pandhari and 7 km in Mathjalgaon. The projects were completed in just one and a
half months, driven by the need for a more hopeful monsoon.
With the arrival of the second monsoon season, our reservoirs filled with water, bringing
hope and renewal. The rainwater harvesting projects not only provided vital water but also
improved irrigation, supporting farming activities. These efforts fostered a sense of collective
responsibility for the land, revitalized interest in agriculture, and reduced urban migration by
generating job opportunities. This initiative has strengthened the social and economic
structures of the villages, paving the way for a more prosperous future.
