1. Sanitation

We worked to improve sanitation facilities by building toilets and promoting good hygiene practices. Rural neglect and savagery often result in a lack of basic amenities, including sanitation. We recognize the risks associated with a lack of toilets and open defecation in our country, which is one of the major causes of school dropouts and uterine, gastronomical, and ovarian diseases and fatalities. We are delighted to have finished building 200 toilets in the villages, ensuring that each family has access to sanitized and hygienic facilities. Additionally, we built 5 toilets in schools for boys and girls. This has effectively helped in assuring that every parent and guardian, dauntlessly admits their children in school. The water then is recycled and can be regenerated and used for daily chores.

2. Building houses for Banjara Community

Amongst the already nefarious neglect and torment faced by our rural communities, some of them are even more fragile tribes, having faced years of ostracisation and social chastisement. One such community is that of our Banjaras or the nomadic tribes. They have been homeless and have had to suffer and bear the wrath of savage lifestyles and meagre means. Apart from unemployment and lack of facilities, many are homeless. We are happy to have contributed our bit and constructed homes for these brothers and sisters.

3. Cultivation and Sustainability

Just as Brenda Schoepp says “My grandfather used to say that once in your life, you need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman and a preacher. But everyday, three times a day, you need a farmer.” Our agricultural economy dates back to ancient times. Ensuring sustainability in rural areas is our core goal. We aim to cultivate a love for farming in future generations. Recent trends show declining ecosystems, low agricultural yield, urban migration, rural debts, and farmer suicides. Protecting our farmers, who nourish us, is vital. It is of paramount importance to understand that our endeavours shall be consistent with the sustainability of our green mother, for it is only then that our efforts will live up to their maximum potential and not be merely ephemeral.
- We introduced Permaculture to our farmers, offering a sustainable, holistic farming approach for high yields in an environmentally
-friendly way. Permaculture promotes a transition to an eco-friendly future through 'permanent culture'. By focusing on principles like caring for the planet and people, Permaculture aims to create enduring cultures with systems like climate design, rainwater harvesting, and tree protection.
- Our land productivity has surged due to government schemes, financial aid, workshops and educational sessions on hybrid cultivation, irrigation, and farming equipment. It has helped generate employment opportunities and instilled a new zeal and confidence in our farmers to grow and experiment with different crops, fruits, along with their usual cultivations.
- In order to install in our children, the love for an organic way of life and cultivate a spirit of farming, we have arranged for farming innovative programs with experts and debutants from respective fields to amalgamate modern contemporary ideas and classic ways of cultivation, to encourage our generations and future leaders towards the same.

4. Tree Plantation Drive

Blessed are those to be cradled in the bosom of foliage and trees, Cursed are those who clobber at them and be tyrants reckless and carefree. It is key to our ethos to raise awareness in our communities about environmental issues like climate change and deforestation, emphasizing the importance of saving resources and trees. We held a successful tree planting event in Pokhari village with strong community support. Generous donations were received for the drive, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and a legacy for future leaders. To add a personal touch, we dedicated the saplings to loved ones and paid tribute to nature.

5. Social Change

From the mantle of our soils to our skies so blue, We shall conquer our wars, out of the bleak to freedom ever true! Our families in our villages are receptive to change and revolutions. And we have been ever proud to be a part of this revolution to fumigate hearts and minds, where once confined ideologies dwelled. Our women have embraced financial independence through successful ventures like recycled cloth bags, gaining recognition nationally and internationally. They also explore other opportunities in handicrafts and cultivation, with many venturing into digital entrepreneurship managing their own financial accounts. Sexual assault has lasting physical and psychological effects. To provide a safe space for girls and survivors, we held discussions on the Me Too movement. Despite hearing many harrowing stories, we were inspired by the bravery and strength of our daughters. Alcoholism and substance abuse are common in villages, often beginning early. Sensitizing communities about the health risks is crucial. We've hosted discussions, workshops, and involved children in spreading awareness through graffiti. We are ever proud of how resilient and valiant our LGBTQIA community is. We are aware of the battles and vanquishments of our brothers and sisters. As such, we do the little we can to support them in their journeys and aspirations, by offering counsel, opportunities and imparting education and awareness of their journeys and choices. We have our extremely doughty and beautiful Kareena, an active and ever willing participant and representative for Nabhangan and our village projects.
